The Azahar Group of Castellon, Spain wanted to construct a headquarters that reflected its philosophy and commitment to green development and sustainability. On a collaboration with the Office of Architecture in Barcelona, the Azahar Group has constructed a breathtaking monument to the green economy on Spain’s east coast. The Azahar Group Headquarters is a progressive work of architecture in both function and form, representing the ingenuity and altruism of the company’s third world focus on sustainability. The Azahar Group works to develop environmental logistics in third world countries. This includes waste treatment, recycling, gardening/farming design and environmental consultancy. These headquarters were designed to reflect those efforts, including green design elements and a visual inspiration from the mountainous Castellon landscape. The angular, asymmetric roof pattern continues the backdrop of the mountains behind it, but also acts as a force for runoff water that is collected and recycled to maintain the greenery of the lot. The interior is as visually arresting as the building’s facade, with cool white angular walls and a ceiling slatted with sky lights to let the sun handle most of the lighting burden. We love progressive office design here at TheCoolist, and this is one of the greatest works we’ve seen in recent history. The Office of Architecture in Barcelona have outdone themselves in this stunning design for the Azahar Group. [via arplus] View in gallery View in gallery View in gallery View in gallery
